Introverts often become successful software developers, because the job requires independent work and problem solving. Typically, software developers update software and develop new programs to solve a variety of business problems. They may also test, evaluate and create software systems and software, and coordinate installation of new systems. Writing reports and proposals is another component of the software developer’s job. The good thing about the software developer careers is that unlike most industries, an information technology salary may lead to further entrepreneurial opportunities in the future.

To compete for a position as a software developer, you’ll first need to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems (CIS) or a computer science degree online or on campus. From there you can try to get into IT management by obtaining your masters in information technology.
